Tereza Semotamová: Lively, poignant, radical!

Tereza Semotamová is a German-to-Czech translator, journalist, author of radio plays and a prose writer born in Boskovice in 1983. Her prose works include Pocong or On the Rigidity of Human Existence (with J. Vítek, 2015), In the Closet (2018) and Radical Needs (2024). Semotamová graduated in scriptwriting and dramaturgy at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts and in German studies at Masaryk University in Brno. According to the publisher website, the “nameless narrator” of the author’s new book “manages to draw readers into her own world with her lively and immediate language and poignant tone, which encompasses the metropolitan intellectual circles, Moravian villages, the periphery of Prague as well as an  international artistic residency in Germany.”
