Pavel Tomeš is a writer, publisher and stand-up comedian born in Brno in 1977. He has published Slaps from Mars (2010), The Notes of a Little Tyrannosaurus (2012), People Take This a Lot (2015), All’s Well Apart from the Ending (2021, Magnesia Litera Readers’ Award 2022) and 13! (2023). He also runs the publishing house Otoč. Tomeš does stand-up comedy – appearing on TV programmes Na Stojáka and Comedy Club and live with his literary one-man-show. “People think that we’re always making fun of something,” he said in an interview, “but occasionally I am being serious!”
