Lukáš Balabán: A harsh, grotesque, and tender confession

Lukáš Balabán was born in 1985 in Ostrava. He did not complete his degree in English at Masaryk University in Brno. He is a publicist, translator, presenter, „youtuber, musician, occasional poet. Former Christian, now an atheist, sceptic, leftist, in many ways a naive dreamer, the typical scribbler who will interpret the planets for you until you are seeing red”.

In 2025, his first original prose, Román pro pitomce (A Novel for Idiots), was published. The publisher describes it as follows: “It is, of course, about his father, an Ostrava-like harsh, grotesque and tender generational confession.”
